Laura Haymon, LICSW
Hi! I can’t wait to meet you.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping children, teens, and their families effected by special needs. I received my Bachelor’s in Human Services from Troy University and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama.
I have experience working with children/teens who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, cognitive or developmental disorders, as well as those effected by trauma. It’s my pleasure to see individuals recognize their unique abilities and strengths through sensory friendly therapy. I love to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, exercises used in Play Therapy, and the Trust Based Relational Intervention to help children and teens address behavioral or mental health concerns. My new passion is learning about the amazing bodies God created us with and our nervous systems. I am studying to be a certified Safe and Sound Protocol provider and will use that to help individuals regulate their bodies to help address their mental and behavioral health. In all things, my goal is to honor Christ and point others to the hope of the Gospel through Christ in any therapy modality I use (Romans 1:16; Psalm 34).
When I am not in the office, I love to be with my family and be a part of my local church. I am mother to a toddler and wife to an engineer. I call myself the “emotion to his brain”. You can find me on a nice walk or trail, playing board games, and watching movies. I also love a good corny joke! I look forward to connecting and working on healing and understanding in your family.
